| Lady Sunshine and the X-Band
Lady Sunshine returns, after a spectacular performance last year. We listened to your feedback, and we expect this year to be even better! There will be shorter songs, and more of them! Lady Sunshine was born to sing the blues. Born on a plantation near the Mississippi Delta in West Helena, Arkansas, Lady Sunshine grew up singing gospel music as a little girl and is definitely the 'real deal!' Sunshine is the consummate entertainer and that deep soulful southern hunger that drives her is apparent both on and off the stage through her heartfelt originals and down-to-earth demeanor. She moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1975 and began performing professionally in genres such as Blues, R&B, Gospel, Soul & Jazz. |

Aleks Daskalov On his travels Aleks has shared his love of dance and music as far away as Shanghai and Dubai. In each spot he finds a few forgotten gems or new originals to bring back home and share. Every set will include songs you'll wish you'd heard before mixed in with familiar favorites. |

Brooke Filsinger One fateful day, many moons ago, Brooke stumbled on dancing as a very effective study distraction and quickly decided one degree was good enough. Today Brooke moonlights as the Director of the Swing and Tap Academy of Toronto, although numerous events that may prefer to remain nameless often call upon her to revive the djing and bartending skills of her sordid past. Be it swing standards, blues, funk or soul, Brooke loves full-bodied, 'scrumpditiliumptious' music, the kind that you can really sink your teeth into. She.ll play that stuff that keeps you dancing all night long! |

Mike "The Girl" Legett Mike's love of blues and jazz has been obsessive for some time, and once she started running a weekly blues dance out of her home in Atlanta in 2008, she committed herself to the art of DJing. She has since gone on to DJ sets around Atlanta, Orlando, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and Austin. She prides herself on providing a variety of styles and eras in each of her sets, and strives to create a sound that is both unique and inspiring; she also aspires to expose people to new music, and to challenge their dancing. |

Janna Kryscynski If you remember Janna from her teaching days in the Ann Arbor swing scene, you must be "old school" (relatively speaking, of course). If you don't remember her, come on up and introduce yourself and ask for a dance - she's always ready to make new swing friends! Janna's musical influences include Ella Fitzgerald (duh), Lou Rawls (mmmm), Nina Simone (mmm again) ... aw hell, you don't want to read an endless list of musicians, do you? She likes to watch you groove on the dance floor and plays music that makes you wanna. 'Nuff said. |
